From 2005 until 2010, I was full-time involved with the Aston Villa Football Club in: Researching and writing a 2-volume (984 pages) history of the Club Creation of print-ready electronic files for printing of that history Liaising with the Club's printers and ISBN providers Flier artwork for promotion of the book Physical organisation of the Club's archives Design, development and loading of an archives' database catalogue Other (related) archives' activities including conservation of photographs etc Writing historical articles for the Club's match programme and magazine Proofreading for the Club's match programme and magazine Development of football-related statistical data A passionate yet methodical writer, I have also written (and had published) articles for Family Tree and Brummagem magazines.	My long working experience started in the local government and legal sectors (as a legal documenter), but by far the main part of my career relates to my computer software and documentation functions within large and small-scale manufacturing and engineering companies (e.g. IBM, Chrysler, BOC, Heraeus) and some service companies (e.g. Rymans, Glasses Guide, Perrings Furnishings). I have had some government sector experience (Child Support Agency). The last few years have seen my involvement in the football sector (Aston Villa FC). Despite much of my involvement being with large organisations, I have also had significant experience with small organisations and with individual clients. My work has always attracted considerable acclaim. In addition, I have a deep interest in the topics of spiritual philosophy, culture and history, including genealogy. I have thoroughly researched many aspects of these topics (at research establishments such as the National Archives and the British Library, and by travel) and have maintained a related personal web site for over 10 years. Further, I have provided voluntary newsletter production services to voluntary organisations. I am a creative and energetic yet mature problem solver, who understands the need to work within a budget and to a deadline. I have excellent communication and management skills and - especially - have a keen eye for detail. If it's experience, reliability and concern about your needs that matters, then I'm your man!
Rates
Rates vary depending upon the work complexity (minimum £9 p.h.) but where a sizeable project is involved, I would prefer to work to a fixed sum basis, possibly with stage payments.
