  • Copywriting, copy editing, journalism, feature writing, press release writing, web writing.
  • Newsletter writing and editing, basic QuarkXpress design (advertorials, editorial for local press).

  • I'm a journalist / copywriter and I write intelligent, creative copy on a variety of subjects.
  • I've written features for lifestyle publications, spa magazines, health & fitness publications, and even worked full time in communications for government & legal organisations, so I'm adept at targeting different audiences.
  • I can create engaging consumer features, including the image sourcing, draft you a fabulous press release, write targeted magazine editorial, draft public sector newsletters and brochures, and I even have my own website and love writing for web too.
  • I designed myself in 2006, and came up with the concept of a 'positive, feelgood' website. I've created and managed the whole site with no budget or backing, while working full time in an office and taking on freelance copy writing projects too. The site was averaging almost 25000 hits per month in April 2007 - which is quite an achievement as it was only launched in August 2006.
  • I spent five years working as a Publicity & Communications Coordinator for the Government Office for the East of England - part of the Department for Communities and Local Government, which covers regional and urban policy, local government, planning, housing and regeneration.
  • Examples of the work there include project managing and producing the Regional East of England Public Health Group√Ęs external newsletter, - I commissioned the content, arranged the production, sourced the images, designed the layout in MS Publisher and delivered the newsletter virtually single-handed.
  • My main day-to-day responsibilities were editing the staff newsletter, contributing to and commissioning for corporate publications, publishing to the external website, researching news and items of interest and keeping the content fresh.

The site for freelance writers: speech writers, copywriters, ghostwriters and anything written.
